Easy Au Pair Reviews

Easy Au Pair is the most popular au pair search website in this category.  It had about 2000 au pairs to choose from at time of publication, which can be narrowed down using a search filter selecting country (of the au pair), region, city, gender, nationality, driving license and photo.  Out of the 2000 profiles, only 400 have photos which is not great and the profiles are not particularly well presented or comprehensive.  However, there are some handy quick browse features where you can browse by nationality and country.  It truly is an international site, covering more than 200 countries.  European countries are where you will traditionally find the most au pairs, but there are people from as far as Indonesia and Hong Kong to choose from as well.  This is great when thinking about the enriching exchange of culture this could bring your children, which is what the au pair idea is all about.

The site has information on the main countries where au pairs are hosted and explains a little bit about au pair programs in those countries.  These are Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, UK, USA, Switzerland and the Netherlands.  You are advised to seek out information from the government websites of these countries to check about working abroad.  In the UK there is something called a Youth Mobility Scheme, and the guidelines are laid out on this site.

There is quite a comprehensive section on anti-scam advice.  Apart from the usual advice about what to watch out for and not sending money, they Interestingly have also posted a list of names commonly used by scammers.  There is also a facility for adding comments about your experiences with scammers at the bottom of the page.  This also applies to au pairs seeking families, as sometimes scammers set up a fake family profile and ask for money from au pairs. 

Other than setting up a profile, features include "My Favorites", "My EasyFind", "My Messages" and a selection of members' tools.  These tools include:

• Who has added you to their favorites
• Who has added you to their favorites that match your criteria
• Members that have viewed your profile
• Members that have viewed your profile that match your criteria
• Who has sent you an introduction message
• Who has sent you an introduction message that matches your criteria

Your profile features the capacity for up to 4 photos, you can edit your personal details, deactivate and delete your profile.  "My Favorites" is a useful way to add the profiles which interest you to a list.  "My Easy Find"  is a list of profiles that the website has produced for you based on the criteria stated in your profile.  There is also a special secure e-mail message section for contacting au pairs or families.  Costing £31.99 for three months this is not the cheapest way to try out full membership, compared to other websites in this category.  At this price we would like to see a better interface and clearer information.  However, the site is devoted to au pairs rather than other types of childcare so it is a dedicated service, and you do get three months membership for this price.
